Vietnam’s exports of fruit and vegetable fetched $6.66 billion in the first 11 months of the year, marking an impressive growth of 28.2% year-on-year, figures from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development show.
In November alone, exports of fruit and vegetable earned $500 million.
Most of key products recorded significant year-on-year growth during the 11-month period, including durian (45%), mango (40%) and jack fruit (25%).
China remained the biggest importer of Vietnamese fruit and vegetable in the 11-month period with $4.1 billion, surging 28.7% year-on-year and accounting for 66.5% of the total.
It was followed by the US and the Republic of Korea, accounting for 4.7% and 4.3% of the total, respectively.
With positive results gained in the first 11 months, Vietnam is expected to gain $7.2 billion from fruit and vegetable exports for the whole year.
