Pia Wurtzbach Jauncey, Glenn Yong, Haven, Weronika Heck, Dharni and the GRAZIA Singapore community dialled up the glitz and glamour to celebrate the evening
“The vibes do not disappoint! There’s great company all around. The music is great. It’s just great to be here,” enthused Filipino actress and model Pia Wurtzbach Jauncey on the night of GRAZIA Singapore’s first anniversary party. The stunning former Miss Universe was speaking to the lively crowd in the Christopher Guy showroom at the heart of Orchard Road, which was transformed into our very own La Casa Grazia.
Even before guests arrived, the space was a sight to behold. It featured marble tiles, floor-to-ceiling windows as well as fine furniture and decor pieces that reflect Christopher Guy’s modern design aesthetic. There were other special touches for the occasion: portraits of our GRAZIA Game Changers and our first-ever cover star, Tu Tontawan, adorned the walls.
Our party guests, dressed to the theme of “Hollywood Glam”, dazzled in gowns with feathers and sequins as they posed against GRAZIA Singapore’s photowall, along with the inspiring women who filled the pages of our magazine in the past year. Wurtzbach, the guest of honour of the evening, flaunted a Rabanne chain link minidress. Other standout looks included Brie Benfell’s hooded gold lamé Norma Kamali gown; as well as Liyann Seet’s red-hot Area dress, which featured a crystal-embellished heart.
Hands down, our birthday bash was the place to see and be seen that night. At the main lounge, which featured a crystal chandelier as its centrepiece, guests gathered to chat, catch up and exchange compliments on their outfits. Fun moments were captured on camera at the Magic Mirror Photobooth, where guests could print out photo mementos from the evening.
There were plenty of drinks to enjoy throughout the party, courtesy of Glenfiddich, who offered exclusive cocktails for the party, including the “The Game Changer” made with Glenfiddich single malt Scotch whisky.
For a different kind of indulgence, guests were invited to the Guerlain Beauty Boudoir where they could try Guerlain’s exquisite line-up of fragrances and admire the French luxury brand’s iconic honeycomb-inspired Bee Bottles.
For entertainment, DJ Eden Cai supplied the sounds for the party, spinning against a backdrop of the glittering city skyline. Later in the night, GRAZIA Game Changer Calista Liaw offered a twist on Fujii Kaze’s Shinunoga E-Wa and Evanescence’s Bring Me To Life on the traditional Chinese erhu, following which, indie pop singer Haven, who was clad in a sparkling feathered minidress from Style Lease, had the audience dancing with her energetic performance that included an exclusive preview of her single Ride or Die from her hotly anticipated upcoming debut album.
