JENNIFER ANISTON & COURTENEY COX CONTINUE ‘FRIENDS’ THANKSGIVING TRADITION WITH INTIMATE HOLIDAY PARTY

Throughout the ten years and ten season run of the hit NBC sitcom Friends, a few things could be counted on—Matthew Perry’s Chandler would make a self-deprecating quip, Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe would deliver an out-of-tune rendition of an original song and David Schwimmer’s Ross would moan about whatever personal circumstances the writers had conjured up for him that episode. However, the Friends’annual Thanksgiving episode was the real highlight.

Now, twenty years after the show went off the airways, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are continuing the beloved tradition by hosting an intimate holiday party fitting of their characters. As their on-screen counterparts, Monica Geller and Rachel Green, always threw the yearly gathering, it’s only right that the actors spend the festive period together. For this year’s celebration, Anniston shared a glimpse at the revelries on her Instagram stories. The 55-year-old posted a few black-and-white polaroids of her guests with the caption, “A few scenes from Friendsgiving ❤️”.

Though we weren’t afforded a close-up look at her tablescape or Thanksgiving menu, netizens deducted that Sandra Bullock was also in attendance based on the blurry images. It’s not clear if their former costars, including Matt LeBlanc, were invited to attend the dinner.

As fans of the show would know, the Thanksgiving episode always introduced a celebrity cameo and countless hijinx, like Aniston’s then-husband Brad Pitt making an appearance as a high school friend and member of the ‘I Hate Rachel Green’ fan club.

Though Anniston and Cox regularly reunite, the occasion was especially bittersweet given the one year anniversary of Perry’s passing was last month. In celebration of the anniversary of his death, both Aniston and Cox shared tributes on social media in his honour. “Missing you today and always ❤️,” Cox wrote.
