Malia Obama Flexes Her Fashion Muscles at Brunch

After wearing power-clashing Vivienne Westwood separates on her first red carpet in Deauville, Malia Obama has become something of a paragon of Gen-Z style. Over the weekend, the 26-year-old filmmaker and former First Daughter showed off her mastery of the eclectic-cool look while out to brunch in Los Angeles’s Larchmont neighborhood.

Obama wore a tangerine graphic baby tee over a button-up that poked out of the bottom of her shirt. She paired the brightly colored top with a gray, double-pleated, below-the-knee skirt from Dunst. While a pair of loafers may have been the obvious styling choice, Obama opted for a more outré option, which will surely earn her some points with die-hard fashion fans: a pair of black patent leather hiking boots from 1017 Alyx 9SM x ROA, which she wore with tall gray socks. (No “Millennial socks” here!)

It’s Obama’s bag that gives us some insight into her shopping habits. She toted a green and navy plaid SC103 crossbody bag. The specific colorway Obama carried was exclusive to cool Canadian fashion and streetwear retailer, SSENSE—a fashion industry favorite. So, that begs the question: Malia Obama, may we please see what’s on your SSENSE wishlist?
