Laura Harrier Held a Very Old-Glamour Dinner to Celebrate Her Collaboration With Reformation

To throw an event with a touch of old Hollywood glamour, one simply books The Sunset Tower. As such, the hotel was Laura Harrier’s venue of choice for her intimate but star-studded dinner party to celebrate a new ready-to-wear capsule created in collaboration with Reformation.

“It sounds obvious, but I truly just wanted it to be fun,” Harrier tells Vogue ahead of the sit-down. “I invited my closest friends from all walks of life, as well as enlisting a few of them to help out DJing or taking photos.” Carving out a spot for a dinner table right in front of the property’s rooftop pool with a view (it was the perfect location for catching a multicolored sunset in photos), the dinner was indeed made up of a number of people Harrier has surely been spotted out at other industry goings with at one point or another, including Kilo Kish, Kitty Cash, Elsa Hosk, Tyrell Hampton and Jeremy Pope, for starters.

While a live pianist continued, guests were served Sunset Tower staples—rounds of cocktail shrimp, caviar, deviled eggs, and martinis—immediately upon arrival. Then, for the entertainment ahead of dinner, there was a photo booth moment and a tarot station. Throughout the room, more stylish details to outfit the occasion were displayed: adorably branded lighters, ashtrays, and matches—it was all very Parisian bistro chic meets LA.

Speaking of, the capsule itself is both very Harrier and very off-duty model, perusing the streets of Champs-Élysées. “I’ve been a long-time Ref customer since back when I lived on the Lower East Side and would shop at their store there, which had a lot of vintage pieces incorporated into it,” Harrier says. The campaign boasts the model and actor in pops of leopard print among muted essentials such as a cowl-neck dress, a knit shorts set, and a sheer handkerchief head scarf. “For me, the mood board is always the ’90s It girls. Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Campbell, and Kate Moss are always my personal style references.”

Dinners don’t always come with an after-party, but why not when you’re partying with friends? Having booked out the entire lounge area for the evening, guests extended the good time past supper, with the likes of Kaytranada and more making their way over to close out the evening.
