‘The Morning Show’ actress shares her daughter with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe
Reese Witherspoon is showing her support for her daughter as she makes her television debut.
On Sunday, April 6, The Morning Show actress, 49, shared a snap via Instagram Stories of her television as she watched her daughter Ava Phillippe, whom she shares with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, 50, make her acting debut on ABC’s Doctor Odyssey.
In the episode, which premiered on Thursday, April 3, Ava, 25, played one of three college “vixens” who have set their sights on Joshua Jackson‘s Max.
The proud mom posted a picture of her daughter in the show, wearing a two-piece string bikini similar to the one Witherspoon’s Legally Blonde character Elle Woods wore during the Harvard video application essay in the 2001 film.
“Look who is in the new episode of Dr. Odyssey! 🤩” she wrote over the photo. “@avaphillippe so proud of you.”

The 25-year-old and her lookalike mom share a close bond. Ava recently celebrated her famous mom with a series of posts on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, March 22, to mark the Little Fires Everywhere star’s 49th birthday.
“Happy happy birthday to this phenomenal woman I am lucky to call my Mama. Love you so much,” Ava wrote alongside a throwback photograph of herself and Witherspoon hugging each other on a fall day.
In a follow-up post, Ava shared a black-and-white photo of Witherspoon holding an espresso martini, which she set to the tune of Stevie Wonder‘s classic song “Isn’t She Lovely.”

In addition to her daughter Ava, the You’re Cordially Invited actress shares her son Deacon Phillippe, 21, with her ex-husband Ryan, and son Tennessee James Toth, 12, with her ex Jim Toth. Above everything, the mom of three has kept her kids as her priority. In a video posted on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, March 15, Witherspoon told a sweet story about a recent night out with her kids that made her feel good about her parenting journey.
Witherspoon said that over dinner, her friend asked her sons if there was one lesson that they would “always remember” that their mom taught them. The Big Little Lies star said that one of them — she didn’t specify who — replied that she would always tell him that if he was given “the choice to be normal or the choice to be weird,” he should always choose weird and that it’s “okay to stand out and be different.”
With her hand on her chest, Witherspoon gushed that it “filled my heart with the deepest joy that he learned that from me.” She added, “It just meant so much to me that my kids know it’s okay to be different and that it can actually end up being their superpower.”
