Sarah Paulson Compares Friendship with ‘Ride or Die’ Amanda Peet to a Music Collab by 2 Pop Icons: ‘That’s Our Song’ (Exclusive)

The pair met as costars in the 1999 series ‘Jack & Jill’ and have been friends ever since

Sarah Paulson and Amanda Peet are shotgun riders ’til the day they die.

While attending the New York City premiere of Peet’s new television series Your Friends & Neighbors on April 8, Paulson, 50, spoke exclusively with PEOPLE about her years-long friendship with the actress — and how they compare it to a song by two pop icons.

“That is my ride or die,” the American Horror Story alum said. “You know that song ‘II Most Wanted‘ by Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus? I know it’s about lovers, and we are deeply not in love with each other, but that’s our song.”

“I feel like I wouldn’t want to be on planet Earth if she weren’t here,” Paulson continued of Peet, 53. “I’m the luckiest person alive.”

“II Most Wanted,” a collaboration between Beyoncé, 43, and Cyrus, 32, was released as part of the Destiny’s Child alum’s latest album, Cowboy Carter.

The track interpolates “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac and features lyrics about a strong bond that ties two people together.

After the Cowboy Carter tracklist was announced and showed Cyrus as a featured artist, the star wrote on X, “I’ve loved Beyoncé since long before I had the opportunity to meet & work with her.
My admiration runs so much deeper now that I’ve created alongside her. Thank you, Beyoncé. You’re everything & more. Love you.”

“II Most Wanted” went on to win the award for best country duo/group performance at the 2025 Grammys in February.

Paulson and Pete met as costars in the 1999 series Jack & Jill and have since shared many life moments together. “It’s one of the longest [friendships] of my life,” Paulson previously told PEOPLE. “I find it incredibly grounding, but also wildly chaotic in the most fun way possible.”

Peet’s latest project sees her star as Mel Cooper, the wife of Jon Hamm‘s Andrew Cooper. The series also stars Olivia Munn, Mark Tallman, Hoon Lee, Lena Hall and Aimee Carrero.

Paulson, meanwhile, has an array of projects in the works, including All’s Fair — a television series that sees her reunite with longtime collaborator Ryan Murphy and star alongside Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Kim Kardashian, Teyana Taylor and more.
