“Who doesn’t love a bargain?” the actor replied on Instagram
Internet trolls won’t get Brandon Sklenar down!
On Friday, April 11, MTV posted a video on Instagram of Sklenar, 34, and White Lotus alum Meghann Fahy, 34, sharing dating advice timed to the release of their new movie Drop.
In the comments section, one person called Sklenar a “Wallmart Glen Powell,” in reference to the retail chain Walmart and the Twisters actor.
However, Sklenar did not take the online jab too seriously.
“Who doesn’t love a bargain?” the 1923 star fired back on Instagram, earning praise for his response.
A fan reacted to Sklenar, writing, “Dying at this 10/10 response. No notes.”

Directed by Christopher Landon, Sklenar’s Drop follows Fahy as Violet, a widowed mother going on a date for the first time in years. There, she meets the charming Henry, played by Sklenar, who becomes the target of a deadly game.
The couple’s “chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone,” per the film’s synopsis, adding that the anonymous sender grows increasingly threatening, and ultimately demands that she kill her companion.
Sklenar previously spoke to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview about his journey to playing the leading man on the big screen. The new movie released amid the same time 1923, the show he has been starring on since 2022, premiered its final episode.
“It is very cool objectively that these things are happening at the same time,” the actor said. “It’s sort of divine timing, a universal wink. It’s like, ‘Hey, good on you.’ ”

“I’ve been kind of just pounding away for the last 16 years,” he added. “It’s like the universe throwing you a bone and I really appreciate that.”
Sklenar has also starred in 2024’s It Ends With Us, alongside Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, and 2022’s Emily the Criminal, which was led by Aubrey Plaza. Next, he is set to star in The Housemaid with Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried.
