At the age of 16, Ben Nguyen made history in Round 2 of the F4 Southeast Asia Championship 2025 by brilliantly securing a top 3 overall finish along with the title of Talented Young Racer Southeast Asia. Just three months into his professional training journey, this impressive achievement not only marks a significant milestone in Ben’s personal career but also adds a proud golden chapter to Vietnamese sports on the international stage.
Impressive head start
Starting from 6th position, car number 37 of the BlackArts Racing team driven by Ben Nguyen quickly rose to 4th place after just the first two laps, overtaking several competitors from countries with strong motorsport traditions such as India, Australia, China, and Singapore. Although he was pushed down to 5th by a veteran Indian racer, Ben remained persistent, chasing closely and overtaking the Australian driver to reclaim 4th place.

The climax of the race was a breathtaking chase lasting nearly 5 minutes between Ben and professional racer Cheng Minh from China. Despite being closely pursued, Ben remained calm, controlled his speed, and firmly held his position under intense pressure from the experienced opponent. As a result, Ben secured 4th place until the race ended.
Huge surprise from technical checkups
After the race ended, the organizers announced the technical results: the Filipino racer who finished second was disqualified due to the car being 200 grams under the required weight. As a result, Ben officially entered the Top 3, finishing the second round with an admirable achievement. The tournament’s coaches highly praised Ben’s remarkable progress—in physical strength, situational handling skills, and competitive spirit that rivals that of professional racers.

With this achievement, Ben has not only made his mark on the Southeast Asian motorsport map but also sparked great inspiration for the young generation of Vietnam to step into the international arena. This is a testament to the relentless effort and determination of a young Vietnamese talent on the journey to conquer the heights of sports.
Strict training journey
Currently, Ben is still an 11th-grade student at ISHCMC International School. He starts his day at 7 a.m., has breakfast at home, and goes to school like any other student. In the afternoon, after finishing his homework, he spends 1 to 2 hours practicing simulated racing with his teammates at home. This is an important method that helps him improve reflexes, strategy, and track awareness.

Instead of going out like many of his peers, Ben chooses to self-study aerodynamics and dedicates his time to sharpening his driving skills. On weekends, he often goes to Dai Nam or Global City to practice Go-Karting. This real-world experience serves as a stepping stone to enhance his vehicle control skills. Although he only started pursuing his passion for racing in December 2024, Ben has quickly caught up with competitors who have years of experience.
Firm support from the family
Ben Nguyen is the son of businessman Nguyen Hoai Nam and Miss Sports Vietnam 1995 Nguyen Thu Huong. His family has always been a strong source of both financial and emotional support for Ben in pursuing his passion for racing. Ben’s mother shared that motorsport is an expensive discipline due to the high costs of car investment and advanced technical teams, not to mention the overseas training required before every competition. Without enough passion, talent, and determination, it would be very difficult to follow through to the end.

Before pursuing racing, Ben didn’t like eating vegetables and fruits. However, to achieve his dream, he committed to his mother that he would strictly follow a professional athlete’s diet, rich in fiber, protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins. In addition, Ben has a personal fitness coach who designs a customized training program to improve his endurance, flexibility, and physical resilience for competing at speeds over 200 km/h.
Ben Nguyen’s success at the F4 Southeast Asia Championship 2025 is not only the result of his personal talent and effort but also a testament to the strong support from his family and coaching team. With a progressive mindset and unwavering determination, Ben is poised to go even further on his journey to conquer the pinnacle of motorsport.
