“All joking aside, it would be a huge privilege to get to work with my dad,” Bryce said
Bryce Dallas Howard has her sights set on appearing in one of her dad Ron Howard‘s movies, but he has a different plan for their eventual collaboration.
The 44-year-old Jurassic World actress is the daughter of the acclaimed director and filmmaker, 71. During an April 11 appearance on Good Morning America, she said that it was “a dream of mine” to work with her dad.

“I want that so badly. And I’ve been working for almost 25 years. All joking aside, it would be a huge privilege to get to work with my dad,” she gushed.
Bryce continued, saying, “But he keeps saying to me, ‘No, no, no. We’ll work together when you hire me as an actor.’ ”
Ron has been dipping his toes more into the acting world, having recently made an appearance in Seth Rogen’s The Studio. Bryce noted that her dad was “incredible” in the role and joked that she was “intimidated” after seeing him in action on set.
Rogen also praised Ron for his instincts on set, previously telling PEOPLE that the actor displayed “a true stroke of genius” while improvising one of his scenes.
Meanwhile Bryce has been exploring directing in recent years, helming the 2019 documentary Dads, as well as several episodes of multiple Star Wars series, includingThe Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

This is not the first time that Ron has expressed interest in working his daughter on one of her projects.
In 2022, he said that she could “probably” get him to appear in something while speaking on Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast.
“It would probably be Bryce directing something and saying, ‘Dad, I really need you to come in and do this,’ or ‘You have to.’ Either of those would probably get me in the makeup chair and in front of the camera.”
While on GMA, Bryce also discussed her early years growing up on set with her dad. It was a childhood that mirrored his own.
“My dad grew up on film sets. Both of his parents were actors, and he started acting when he was like 18 months old. So I think he just thought it was appropriate for children to be on sets,” she explained.
She continued, saying, “From as far back as I can remember, I was right there with my dad. I remember putting on the alien suit for Cocoon and the mermaid tail for Splash and Parenthood was all kids.”

Being on set also gave her an opportunity to interact with an early crush — actor Joaquin Pheonix. Only, he was going by a different name then.
“I had such a huge crush on someone at the time named Leaf Phoenix, who is Joaquin Phoenix. Such a crush on him. I was seven and he was 12,” she admitted.
The pair eventually got to work together, appearing in 2004’s M. Night Shyamalan movie The Village.
