Tony’s Chocolonely Dark Chocolate Almond Sea Salt chocolate bar and Everything Bar are being recalled nationwide
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is issuing a recall for select Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate bars flavors.
Tony’s Chocolonely Inc. issued a voluntary recall on Tuesday, April 2, for two flavors: Dark Chocolate Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar. The recall comes after the company received 12 reports of consumers finding small rocks in the products from customers in the U.S. and Canada.

The affected products (the full list of the specific lot codes, SKU codes and best-by dates can be found in a press release) were distributed online and in retail stores across North America from Feb. 7 through March 24. The recall is exclusively for the 6.35-oz. Bars and no other products are affected by the recall.

The release claims that the small stones were “not filtered during third-party almond harvesting and the almond processing process.”
Should consumers have unopened Dark Chocolate Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar chocolate bars with the affected lot code, the chocolatier suggests returning the product to the retailer where it was purchased.
Last week, over 200,000 pounds of liquid egg substitute products were recalled by Michigan-based company Cargill Kitchen Solutions. The voluntary recall affects 212,268 pounds of liquid egg products that may be contaminated with a cleaning solution containing sodium hypochlorite, the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Friday, March 28.

The recalled products include 32-oz. (2-lb.) cartons of three variations of Egg Beaters’ liquid egg substitute — original, cage-free and frozen — as well the 32-oz. carton of Bob Evans’ Better’n Eggs Made with Real Egg Whites.
The recall comes as the egg prices have soared across the country.
