Designer Ngo Hai Dang – Teller of cultural stories through each fashion design

With a great passion for national cultural values and impressive creativity, designer Ngo Hai Dang is gradually conquering the fashion industry with his unique and intricate designs. Through each creation, he not only showcases his artistic individuality but also carries the mission of promoting Vietnamese culture to the world.

Designer Ngo Hai Dang – The “artist” of national culture

Ngo Hai Dang is one of the young fashion designers gradually making a name for himself in the Vietnamese fashion industry thanks to his unique and creative approach. Born and raised in Vietnam’s rich and diverse cultural landscape, he was captivated from an early age by folk stories, traditional craft villages, and cultural values passed down through generations. This deep admiration inspired him to choose fashion as a way to express his love and responsibility for his nation’s heritage.

Graduating with a major in fashion design, Ngo Hai Dang quickly defined his creative path by focusing on researching, preserving, and promoting Vietnamese culture through each collection. Instead of following modern, globalized fashion trends, he chose to delve into traditional values, studying Vietnam’s history, art, and handicrafts. Every journey to craft villages and every conversation with veteran artisans nurtured his creativity, enriched his knowledge, and fueled his inspiration for each collection.

The uniqueness of Ngo Hai Dang’s design style lies in his ability to seamlessly blend modern and traditional elements. He skillfully reinterprets cultural details, transforming familiar patterns and motifs into fresh and captivating creations. Constantly experimenting, he explores traditional techniques such as hand embroidery, gemstone embellishment, engraving, and fabric sculpting to create wearable fashion pieces that maintain high artistic value. Beyond creativity, designer Ngo Hai Dang actively participates in major domestic and international fashion competitions and showcases to promote his work. He firmly believes that fashion is not merely about aesthetics but also an effective medium for introducing and spreading Vietnamese culture worldwide. Each of his collections embodies dedication, passion, and responsibility, leaving a lasting impression on audiences and industry professionals alike.

“Thang Hong Thai” collection – Combining tradition and modernity

Designer Ngo Hai Dang introduced the collection “Thang Hong Thai” (Traveling up Hong Thai), inspired by the terraced fields of Hong Thai in Tuyen Quang. The lush green, winding terraces stretching across the mountains were elegantly and creatively incorporated into his designs.

In this collection, Ngo Hai Dang used shades of green, light yellow, and earthy brown to capture the natural beauty of Hong Thai. Layered details and flowing lines on the garments evoke the image of terraced fields, creating a soft and graceful silhouette for the wearer.

“Thang Hong Thai” is not only a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity but also a tribute to the natural beauty and hardworking spirit of the highland people. The collection received high praise from fashion experts and enthusiasts alike.

“Thach Long Hoa Khac” collection – Exquisiteness from Ninh Van Stone Carving Village

The “Thach Long Hoa Khac” (Stone Portrait of the Dragon) collection is one of designer Ngo Hai Dang’s most outstanding works, inspired by the stone carving craft village of Ninh Van, Ninh Binh. This village is renowned for its exquisite stone carving artistry, which has been preserved and developed over centuries.

In this collection, Ngo Hai Dang recreated the image of the dragon – a sacred symbol in Vietnamese culture – using 3D engraving techniques on stone-like materials. The designs not only embody the dragon’s majestic and powerful presence but also honor the masterful craftsmanship of Ninh Van artisans.

Beauty queen Le Nam’s performance in “Thach Long Hoa Khac” ensemble made a strong impression at Miss Grand Vietnam 2024. With her captivating stage presence, she fully conveyed the spirit and meaning of the design, earning high praise from both the audience and fashion experts.

Spreading Vietnamese cultural values through each design

For designer Ngo Hai Dang, fashion is not only an art form but also a bridge to preserve and promote national cultural values. He constantly seeks inspiration from traditional craft villages and the distinctive cultural beauty of different regions to incorporate into his designs.

Through each collection, Ngo Hai Dang has helped introduce and honor Vietnamese culture on the international stage. His designs are not only visually striking but also carry profound stories and meanings about Vietnam’s history, culture, and people.

His dedication and passion continue to play a vital role in preserving and enhancing national identity while elevating Vietnamese fashion on the global map.
