Hai Phong city estimates 2024 GRDP growth of 11.01%

Northern Hai Phong port city is estimated to post a GRDP growth of 11.01% in 2024, a 1.6-fold increase compared to the national average, according to the municipal People’s Committee.

This will mark ten years in a row the city has posted double-digit growth. 

With this result, Hai Phong will rank third, in terms of economic growth, among the country’s 63 centrally-run cities and provinces, following northern Bac Giang province and central Thanh Hoa province.

The city is expected to fulfill most of annual economic targets. Total FDI attraction is estimated at $4.7 billion for the whole year, a 2.35-fold rise compared to the annual target.

Disbursement of public investment capital is estimated at 76% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.

Total volume of cargo handled by ports in the city is expected to reach 190 million tons.
