Robbie plays Catherine opposite Jacob Elordi’s Heathcliff in the Emerald Fennell-directed film based on the 1847 novel
Margot Robbie is back in her bridal era — for work purposes at least.
The actress, 34, is back in action filming the latest adaptation of the 1847 novel Wuthering Heights, this one directed by Emerald Fennell and also starring Jacob Elordi.
Robbie was photographed on set outdoors wearing an extravagant bridal costume featuring a romantic off-the-shoulder ball gown with a voluminous skirt. This appears to be one of the first non-maternity looks the Oscar nominee has worn since recently welcoming her baby boy with husband Tom Ackerley. Her post-baby figure was put on display courtesy of the waist-cinching corset that is a part of the dress’ design.

In other images captured of the producer, she is seen looking ethereal while various crew members attempt to tame her very long and very delicate tulle-looking train from blowing in the wind.
Per a Deadline exclusive, Fennell, 38, will write, direct and produce Wuthering Heights with the film being co-produced by Robbie’s LuckyChap and financed by studio MRC. The project has received mixed reviews for its main casting thus far. Plot details (beyond what is in the published book) for Wuthering Heights are unknown at this time.
Robbie’s on-camera wedding moment has us thinking back to her actual nuptials, which occurred in December 2016. She and Ackerley privately tied the knot with an intimate ceremony in Coorabell, a small town found in Australia’s Byron Bay.

Robbie’s wardrobe centered on a cream lace off-the-shoulder dress that her mother, Sarie Kessler, wore to her own wedding, according to Australia’s Courier-Mail. She worked on slight alterations with Australian designer Casey Tanswell, who told the outlet she was approached by a friend to do fixes for a client but “didn’t know” that the person would be Robbie.
After Robbie welcomed her little one, whose name and birthdate have yet to be revealed, a source told PEOPLE that she was resting and focusing on motherhood before jumping back into this year’s projects. “They’re homebodies so it’s been lovely to spend the time just them, at home with him,” the insider said of Robbie and Ackerley. “They’re so happy.”
