Regarding her sister’s potential on-screen appearance, Sara Foster jokes to PEOPLE, “Maybe season 3, Morgan and Joanne go on sabbatical and then it’s us”
Erin Foster is ready for her close-up!
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the 2025 Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala in New York City on Monday, April 7, the Nobody Wants This creator, 42, revealed that she’s open to the idea of making an on-screen cameo in the Netflix series’ third season alongside her sister Sara Foster.
“I always thought that it’d be fun to do that, but I never created a character that I thought was the perfect character,” Erin says.
Sara, an executive producer of the show, already has a potential storyline in mind.
“Maybe season 3, [sisters] Morgan [Justine Lupe] and Joanne [Kristen Bell] go on sabbatical and then it’s us,” she suggests, prompting Erin to reply, “Oh, we just replace them.”
“We replace them,” Sara confirms.

While the pair — who also run the fashion brand Favorite Daughter together — may still have more brainstorming to do, Erin jokes, “I’m always ready [for a cameo], but no one seems to be.”
An on-screen appearance would be fitting for Erin, as Nobody Wants This is inspired by her real-life love story with her husband, Simon Tikhman. The series follows newly single rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) and agnostic sex podcaster Joanne (Bell) as they pursue an unlikely romance while surrounded by naysayers — including their families — who believe their relationship won’t work.
Similarly, Erin met and fell in love with Tikhman, who is Jewish, and she later converted to Judaism ahead of their New Year’s Eve wedding in 2019.

Following a cliffhanger ending to Nobody Wants This‘ inaugural 10-episode season, Netflix announced in October 2024 that the show was being renewed for a second season. As for what fans can expect as the story picks back up, Sara and Erin are keeping mum for now.
“Netflix is crazy. You’re not allowed to give any tea,” Sara, 44, told PEOPLE at Monday’s gala.
“Do Sasha [Timothy Simons] and Morgan hook up? We’ll have to wait to find out,” adds Erin, referring to Noah’s brother and Joanne’s sister and podcast co-host.
Erin also teased the addition of “some exciting new characters,” among them Abby. Played by Brody’s real-life wife, Leighton Meester, Abby is Joanne’s former “middle school nemesis,” now an “Instagram mommy influencer,” per Variety.

Erin tells PEOPLE that viewers will get to see a new side of the Gossip Girl star in the role.
“I don’t know if anyone knows. She’s a comedic genius. She’s so funny. She blew our minds. We were like, ‘Do like we write more of her in?’ ” she says of Meester, 39, who has been married to Brody, 45, since 2014.
“She’s done comedies, but she’s so funny in this,” Erin continues. “I don’t know — it was just a different energy that I’d never seen before and just killed it. She’s so good.”
The first season of Nobody Wants This is available to stream on Netflix.
