The ‘Death of a Unicorn’ actor said he still hasn’t forgiven a “terrible dentist” who, years ago, “screwed up my teeth so badly”
Paul Rudd may have a reputation as being a super nice guy, but he holds a grudge against one person — although he doesn’t even remember his name.
The Ant-Man alum, who turns 56 on April 6, shared that he’s “so furious” at a dentist he saw years ago, telling the Wall Street Journal that he “screwed up my teeth.”
“I always had decent teeth, and I never had braces,” Rudd said, sharing that when he was in his “late 20s, early 30s” — which would have been after he starred in Clueless — he had an appointment “with a dentist I’d never been to before.”

These Throwback Photos of Paul Rudd Prove He’ll Always Be Our Crush for Life
The Death of a Unicorn star told the outlet that the dentist gave him bad news, saying: “‘You got six teeth that had cavities and I gotta take out these fillings and put in white fillings.’ And he goes, ‘On this one, you also gotta do some preventative stuff.’ And he had told my sister she needed to do it, too. “
However, his sister Mandi refused the additional work — or as Rudd put it, she said, “ ‘No way am I doing that.’ And I said, ‘OK, he’s the professional. He knows.’ “
Turns out, his sister was right: “This guy screwed up my teeth so badly,” Rudd said. “It’s one of the things that I carry around. I’m so furious. It’s the only time I ever went to him.”

Although Rudd — named PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2021 — admitted, “I don’t even remember his name,” he had a message for the man: “If he’s reading this, I hope he knows he’s a terrible dentist.”
The rant is rare for Rudd, who, as the outlet notes, has a reputation as a nice guy. “I don’t think I’m particularly nice. Just try and be polite. Try and respect other people’s time,” he explained. “Show up on time. Don’t be a d—khead, and then that’s it.”
His Wet Hot American Summer co-star, Michael Ian Black, offered an initially different take, joking to WSJ, “If no one else will call Paul an a—hole, I will,” before clarifying, “But really, he’s the nicest guy.”
