Tough yet inspirational Muay Thai experience of Manhunt International 2025 contestants at Thailand’s renowned martial arts school

On their journey toward the Manhunt International 2025 crown, beyond the captivating strides on the catwalk and the meticulously crafted haute couture ensembles, the contestants from across five continents experienced a memorable stop — a traditional Muay Thai training camp nestled in the heart of Bangkok. There, amidst the thick air of sweat, the roar of cheers, and the pounding rhythm of Thai drums, they set aside their polished gentlemanly image to transform into true warriors.

Inspirational beginning: When supermodels enter the ring

The Manhunt International 2025 contestants were invited to take part in a Muay Thai training session at Baan Krumuay Boxing Gym in Bangkok — one of the most renowned martial arts training centers in Thailand. Here, they didn’t just learn basic techniques but also immersed themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Thai martial arts. Under the guidance of local trainers, the contestants from various countries experienced their first encounters with punching bags, practiced fundamental strikes, traditional Muay Thai kicks, and powerful knee techniques — revealing a whole new, fierce side to faces more often seen on the runway.

From initial hesitation to fully “igniting” during the training, each contestant’s face reflected determination and eagerness. Highlight videos captured one contestant saying, “Everyone is gaining hard. Everyone is learning. So, great training, guys.” Every drop of sweat, every kick, every punch seemed to affirm that modern style isn’t just about physical appearance—it’s also about inner strength and resilience.

Orthodox and methodical training: Talents in each strong movement

Muay Thai is famously known for its intense training regimen that delivers exceptional physical and mental benefits. The coaches at Baan Krumuay guided the contestants through a structured training program: from shadowboxing (freeform body movement practice) to pad work (striking pads), heavy bag drills, and fundamental conditioning exercises—all following traditional Muay Thai styles.

What’s remarkable is that each kick into the heavy bag is not merely a technical move but also a way for the contestants to build pain tolerance and strengthen their shins—one of Muay Thai’s defining traits. Beyond physical training, the session helped them reconnect with themselves, rediscovering a steely spirit and unwavering determination.

Culture and exchange: Crossing borders to connect

Muay Thai is truly the soul of the Land of Smiles. During their training, the contestants were introduced to the profound meaning of Wai Khru—the traditional ritual of paying respect to one’s teacher. They experienced the spiritual atmosphere of the gym, adorned with historical paintings and honor boards celebrating legendary fighters. This cultural exchange was beautifully reflected in the warm, wordless interactions between the international contestants and their local trainers—the silent beauty of connection.

The Muay Thai experience wasn’t just a side activity; it was a powerful opportunity for the contestants to build a strong, multifaceted image. One contestant shared in front of the camera: “Let’s get ready to rumble” — a bold declaration of inner strength and fighting spirit.

New courage, new opportunities: Turning experiences into personal identity

Moreover, on the catwalk, in the swimwear or evening gown segments, the image of a man with a toned body, a determined face, and eyes shining with the spirit of a warrior will be far more captivating. Therefore, the combination of Muay Thai training and runway performance helps contestants develop comprehensively, both physically and mentally.

The training is not just about physical strength: every kick to the heavy bag, every strong punch, every evasive movement affirms inner power, fighting spirit, and iron will. In this traditional martial art embodying the soul of Thailand, the beauty of a man is no longer measured by physical stats alone, but by endurance, determination, and the sincere, profound ability to embrace local culture. Therefore, the Muay Thai experience becomes an ideal “test” for the modern man that Manhunt aims to showcase — a gentleman who knows how to push his limits, learn from the world, and grow through every drop of sweat he sheds.
