Where Are the Members of *NSYNC Now? All About Their Lives 25 Years After No Strings Attached

The iconic boy band’s third studio album, ‘No Strings Attached,’ is one of the best-selling albums of all time in the U.S.

Formed in 1995, members Justin TimberlakeJC ChasezJoey FatoneChris Kirkpatrick and Lance Bass are the five stars known as *NSYNC, one of the most iconic boy bands of all time.

After first making a splash in Germany in 1996, they went on to release their debut self-titled album, *NSYNC, in March 1998. Despite their success, the group went on a hiatus that became permanent in 2002. Since then, the members have reunited on various occasions for personal milestonestheir Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and in 2024, to perform together live for the first time since the 2013 MTV VMAs at Timberlake’s free, one-night show in L.A.

In addition to being featured on Timberlake’s 2024 album Everything I Thought It Was on the song “Paradise,” the five men worked together for the first time in 20 years for the 2023 song “Better Place” for the Trolls Band Together soundtrack.

Released in 2000, *NSYNC’s third studio album, No Strings Attached, still remains one of the top-selling albums of all time in the U.S.

As their smash hit album, which sold 2.4 million copies in its first week, celebrates its 25th anniversary on March 21, here’s what the members of *NSYNC have been up to since the band’s initial break.

When Justin Timberlake landed a spot as a member of *NSYNC, he had already starred on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club from 1993 to 1994. Since his time as one of the band’s lead vocalists, Timberlake has gone on to have a career spanning music, television and film.

He dropped his first solo album, Justified, in 2002 — producing the hit singles “Cry Me a River” and “Rock Your Body.” The work earned him his first two of a total 10 Grammy Awards. His second album, 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, would take Timberlake to the next level with singles like “SexyBack” and “What Goes Around… Comes Around.” He’s released four more albums since: 2013’s The 20/20 Experience (parts 1 and 2), 2018’s Man of the Woods and 2024’s Everything I Thought It Was.

In addition to his work in music, he launched an acting career and appeared in a string of comedies and dramas, including the Oscar-nominated The Social Network (2010), Bad Teacher (2011), Friends with Benefits (2011), Palmer (2021) and Reptile (2023)In 2016 he kicked off his tenure leading the animated Trolls franchise. He executive produced the first film’s soundtrack and its first single — “Can’t Stop the Feeling” — earned him a Grammy and an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.

Timberlake is on a world tour through July 2025 for his latest album. In June 2024, the singer was arrested and charged with one count of DWI and two citations in Sag Harbor, N.Y., and was held overnight. During a July hearing that year, Timberlake’s attorney Edward Burke Jr. said Timberlake was “not intoxicated” and asked for the case to be dismissed outright due to claims of signing errors allegedly made by the arresting officer. Timberlake was re-arraigned on the misdemeanor again on Aug. 2 and lost his driving privileges in New York. The case wrapped in September 2024 with a plea deal, with Timberlake’s license being suspended for 90 days and him paying a $500 fine and having to complete 25 hours of community service.

In 2012, Timberlake married actress Jessica Biel and the pair have since welcomed two sons, Silas and Phineas.

Justin Timberlake was not the only former Mouseketeer to join *NSYNC; JC Chasez (né Joshua Scott Chasez) was also a The All-New Mickey Mouse Club alumnusAnd like Timberlake, Chasez launched a solo career when the boy band went on hiatus — dropping his first solo single, “Blowin’ Me Up (With Her Love)” in 2002 (it appeared on the soundtrack to the film Drumline, which came out that same year).

Despite modest success with his 2004 debut album Schizophrenic — and the album’s first single, “Some Girls Dance with Women” — Chasez parted ways with Jive Records in 2007. His second offering, The Story of Kate, was never released, though tracks from it including “You Ruined Me” and “Until Yesterday” have surfaced online.

Since then, he’s worked as a writer and producer for acts like Basement Jaxx, McFly, Girls Aloud, David Archuleta and Liam Payne. He has popped up on television, too — most notably for a seven-season run as a judge on Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew.

Chasez revealed to PEOPLE in July 2023 that he’s been workshopping two musicals. He released the concept album for one of them, Playing with Fire, which takes inspiration from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, in October 2024.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE that same month, when asked about an *NSYNC reunion, Chasez said, “Justin’s on tour, and I’m doing this, so at current, there would be nothing past basically us just chatting and checking in with one another. The door is not closed by any means, if that’s the question, but there are no concrete plans for anything right now because everyone’s got something on their plate at present.”

He added, “That’s not to say down the road that it’s going to happen or not going to happen. We just don’t know yet. But look, the door is open on the discussion. I can say that.

In 2019, Chasez went Instagram official with girlfriend Jennifer HuYoung.

Lance Bass

As the band was first getting started in the 1990s, Lance Bass was actually the last addition to the group after they lost original member Jason Galasso.

After his time in the band, the Mississippi-born performer did not go the pop music route though he did dabble in acting both in film and on Broadway, with most of his career consisting of television roles and radio work. In 2008, he had a successful run on the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars and later launched a radio show (Dirty Pop with Lance Bass), competed with his mom on a reality TV cooking show (My Kitchen Rules, for which he came in second place) and hosted a reality TV dating show (Logo’s Finding Prince Charming).

Bass, who came out exclusively to PEOPLE in July 2006, also starred in his own reality show with husband Michael Turchin called Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding leading up to the couple’s 2014 nuptials in Los Angeles. In 2007, he also released a New York Times best-selling autobiography, Out of Sync, and hosts a podcast called Frosted Tips.

Bass and Turchin welcomed twins Violet Betty and Alexander James via surrogate in October 2021.

Joey Fatone

Like Lance Bass, Joey Fatone has spent much of his post-*NSYNC career as a TV personality — though he did have a role in the 2002 smash rom-com My Big Fat Greek Wedding, its 2016 sequel and 2023 threequel.

Additionally, Fatone has worked as a presenter, hosting everything from red carpets to reality competition shows (NBC’s The Singing Bee, NBC’s Celebrity Circus, Live Well Network’s My Family Recipe Rocks, the Food Network’s Rewrapped and Discover Family’s Parents Just Don’t Understand, among others).

Fatone has also had a reality TV run himself as a contestant — on the Food Network’s Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off and, of course, Dancing with the Stars. The latter had Fatone competing twice — first in the show’s fourth season (he placed second) and then again among season 15’s All Stars (he was eliminated in week 2).

He also took a turn on Broadway in Rent in 2002 and Little Shop of Horrors in 2004. He came back to Broadway in early 2025 as Lance in & Juliet, a role he will reprise from April 22 through July 31.

In 2004, Fatone wed longtime girlfriend Kelly Baldwin, though after 20 years together the two divorced. They share two daughters, Briahna and Kloey. Fatone is now dating Izabel Araujo.

Since his time in *NSYNC, Chris Kirkpatrick has appeared on reality TV shows on various occasions — CMT’s Gone Country and VH1’s Mission Man Band — and in 2022, competed on The Masked Singer as Hummingbird.

In 2024, Kirkpatrick was featured on the Netflix docuseries Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam, which highlighted the rise and fall of the band’s creator Lou Pearlman.

When it was time for him to walk down the aisle in 2013 to marry his wife, Karly Skladany, all four of his former *NSYNC bandmates were on deck to help him celebrate. In October 2017, he and Skladany welcomed their first child, son Nash Dylan.
